Section 5: Current Situation
Overall, the current situation in Darfur is not going very well. “The humanitarian, security and political situation continue to deteriorate: atrocities continue, people are still dying in large numbers of malnutrition and disease, and a new famine is feared” (One World Society UCC). This quote proves my point and even says that because the genocide is currently going on, Darfur is running into increasingly bad situations that will not only affect the victims of the genocide, but also the Muslims.
Also, many agencies attempting to help genocide victims in Darfur are failing. “Many aid agencies have been working in Darfur but they are unable to get access to vast areas because of the insecurity” (BBC). This is another quote that proves my point. It seems the only way this situation can even get closer to being better is if enough people help, or a stronger military power overthrows the government of Sudan.
